Bio

Rebecca Howell is an artist based in Wilmington, Delaware. Her studio practice explores the convergence of art, nature, and the human experience through abstract drawing and painting that celebrates mark making. Rebecca earned her BFA from the Savannah College of Art and Design, where she later oversaw sales in multiple galleries. Her work has been exhibited regionally, including at The Delaware Contemporary, Rehoboth Art League, and Wayne Art Center. In 2023 she was the recipient of an artist opportunity grant from the Delaware Division of the Arts to attend the Emily Ball Painting Residency at Seawhite Studios in West Sussex, United Kingdom. After spending nearly 15 years as the Manager of Studio Learning & Creative Engagement at the Delaware Art Museum, Rebecca continues her work as an arts educator and community connector while maintaining her studio practice as a member of the Ladies Art House Collective.

    With a focus on mark making and expression, students will experiment with a variety of materials in this relaxed class. No cost to participants, generously sponsored by Delaware Division of the Arts.

  • Good Nature Exhibition at the Newark Arts Alliance

    Exhibition on view: February 17 - March 20

    Reception: Friday, March 13, 6- 8pm

    Two painters explore the endless inspiration and beauty of nature with a musical and meditative approach.
